The reverse side of the 2025 Somalia Silver Elephant features a new design, showing an African bush elephant walking directly towards the viewer. The landscape in the background includes elements typical of the African savanna, such as a lone tree and small patches of brush.

African bush elephants are well-adapted to the hot climate of the savanna. Their large ears help them stay cool by releasing heat, and they are strong swimmers, using their trunks as snorkels when they cross deep waters.
