Each 2007 1/2 oz Australian Silver Lunar Pig Coin is protected by a plastic capsule. The Year of the Pig coin is the ninth issue in the Lunar Series I silver collection. Even though the silver coins weren’t introduced until after 1996, they continued through 2010 to complete the 12-coin set, aligning with the Zodiac cycle.

The obverse of the 2007 Australian Silver Lunar Pig features Queen Elizabeth II. This portrait, designed in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley, shows the Queen in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This was the fourth official portrait of the Queen during her reign.

On the reverse of the 2007 1/2 oz Silver Lunar Pig Coin, there is a depiction of a pig. The pig is shown standing on all fours in right-profile relief with a small pile of leaves beneath its feet.
