Built in the 19th century, this Romanesque Revival castle sits high above the village of Hohenschwangau in Bavaria, Germany. Commissioned by King Ludwig II, the castle is widely recognized for its fairy-tale appearance and served as the model for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle. Its scenic mountain backdrop and intricate design continue to draw millions of visitors every year.

On the reverse of the round, you’ll see the coat of arms of the Free State of Bavaria. This symbol is made up of five distinct sections within a heraldic shield, each one reflecting key historical regions that form modern Bavaria.
